Blog Memories

So, tonight I looked through several of my old posts and they brought back memories.

My first post here in Alabama after the big move East I commented that gas was $2.85 a gallon and was actually happy about it since it was around thirty cents cheaper than Vegas. Gas is currently at something like $2.50 now and falling every day.

Which is funny to me because I predicted to my co-workers about 4 to 6 months ago that the oil prices would crash at some point much like the housing market. I always thought that the speculators were causing false demand price spikes and once something happened to get them out of the oil market the price would crash. Oddly enough it was the housing crash that has led us to the oil crash. I’ve been predicting the housing crash for years back in Vegas and the oil crash here for months. I wonder why the people who are supposed to be smart about these things failed to see it coming while a graphics geek in Alabama has been complaining about everyone’s stupidity for months. Makes you wonder.

Anyway, I saw my posts about my old del Sol and a part of me misses it. Especially since I’ll never drive Anya around in it. But every time it rains here I am so happy I no longer have it. It would have leaked like crazy and the thing would be rusty as crap by now forcing me to get it painted. But it was a fun car.

And I realized I’ve been doing this blog for two years now. Nothing too exciting but it’s interesting to have a public diary of sorts.
